When Vista came out, I was excited. XP simply grew so dull after almost ten years of using it. I made it a point that the
laptop I purchased 2007 had Vista on it.
But boy was I disappointed. Vista crashed frequently, sparred with my applications and too often refused to do my bidding. I deleted it and went back to Windows XP
Now Windows 7 is coming out. Â I huffed at first. It was gonna be another Vista shenanigan, I thought. Turns out I was wrong. You see, my friend got me to download the beta version off Microsoft’s servers. Woah. Was I ever impressed. Unlike Vista which drank resources like a drunk on crack, Windows 7 could actually run off netbooks!
Let me repeat that. NETBOOKS!
That’s right. A piddling 900Mhz processor with 1 GB of RAM didn’t choke at all. The system was blistering fast and the eyecandy user interface was so intuitively good that I felt I was using a MAC. Here was one software that really wouldn’t need a manual at all.
I played with Windows 7 for several weeks and I must say I’m hooked. Â When it hits the market, I’m definitely buying licenses for all my PCs.
