Smiley, The Antidepressant Perfume. Really Works!

smileycologne.jpg Smiley, yes that’s smiley as in the yellow smiley face logo, just released a cool perfume. And this curiosity just any Clinique Happy impostor, it’s also designed to act as a happy booster. It unleashes high tech ingredients that allegedly create feelings of joy, excitement and euphoria. There’s more… you can even purchase Smiley in deodorant form, empowering you to  get happy through your underarms in one easy step.

Here’s the blurb at the website:

Prescription free happiness, now available?! Smiley offers a unisex and universal range of products with micro-nutrients to activate happiness! Its secret: the formula is based on natural bio-chemistry combining theobromine with phenylethylamine derived from pure cocoa extract. This psycho stimulant cocktail is available in a whole range of preparations using galenical pharmacology. A 100% medical look for a unique therapy, the range is revealed out of the confined box of the luxury perfume industry! This antidepressant remedy is to be consumed without any moderation: in the shower, in the bath, for specific use anytime you wish! The formulae are preserved in exclusive perfume bottles developed by the prestigious glassmaking techniques of Saint-Gobain and desinged by Ora-Ito, the most sought after designer of his generation. Nothing like it to contain the happy therapy!

Aromatherapy is old hat, but Arthes, maker of Smiley, takes it to new heights with this product. I scoffed at first, but who can resist testing a feel-good cocktail? The packaging is compelling: sunny yellow and white clinical containers like medicine droppers and those squeeze bottles they use in hospitals. The EDT and EDP have cute round bottoms that won’t stand upright, until you use the plastic clamp around the neck of the perfume as a stand. Aha! This tantalizing packaging was designed by Ora-ito, the  French Prince of Design who’s worked with everyone from Nike to Guerlain to Kenzo.

The formula is a scientific brew. Top notes of bergamot, orange and pimento berry are amazing picker-uppers and energizers. Middle notes of cocoa, praline and curacao provide the bliss … theobromine and phenyethylamine from cacao have an drug-like effect similar to eating chocolate. Hmmm.. I’m starting to wonder if it’s better to drink this bottle or whiff it. Either way, scientist worth her degree knows that fragrances do have a direct line to the brain. Why else would we love them so much? Bottom notes are patchouli, myrrh and musk for their sedative, peace-giving qualities, not to mention a sexy, earthy twist.

So guys… throw away your Prozac. A new Happy boy at a lower price has just blasted into town.
