Defraggler comes in the footsteps of other cool Piriform products (CCleaner and Recuva).
This results in a compact single EXE application, which can be copied to a thumbdrive and then used whenever you need it, without a complex installation process. This is a rarity in the face of bloatware that goes up to the gigabytes. The defraggler EXE itself is less than 1MB! Last time I saw files that size was in the 90s!
Defraggler likes OSs released since Windows 2000, this goes for Windows 2000, 2003, XP and Vista. 64-bit support is no sweat! Defraggler deftly manages both NTFS and FAT32 file systems.
In sum, this software does what Norton Speedisk or Diskeeper does- but without the bloat. It’s a great piece of software if you have one of those slower PCs like the Pentium. Otherwise, using it on a Core Duo with a 7500RPM drive won’t make much of a difference. Defraggers are obsolete in this day of fast discs.
