Pentax SLR Review

Pentax’ K100D and K110D digital SLRs hit the market May 2006, aimed as a straight replacement for the *ist DS series ; these two SLRs are designed to appeal to the affordable end of the digital SLR market but don’t scrimp on features. Essentially, this SLR leapfrogged the ‘prosummer’ segment and placed SLRs directly in the hands of the average joe.

The difference between the K100D and K110D are that the K100D includes Pentax’s proprietary CCD-shift type ‘Shake Reduction’ system, where as the K110D does not. The primary differences between the K100D with the *ist DS2 are the slightly redesigned body, a shift to a Penta-mirror viewfinder optical system (as per the DL2, the DS2 has a Penta-prism), a reduced continuous shooting buffer, P-TTL only flash metering and release of in-camera Shake Reduction.
