If your business has you doing a lot of computing outdoors, a rugged tablet PC might make some sense. The upgraded Duros 8404 even brings an 8.4-inch sunlight-viewable SVGA touchscreen to the mix.Do you conduct business in a hardhat? Or is your cubicle nestled within a Nautilus class sub? If so, consider the Intel
Duros PC. This is one baby that can take the blows of dropping concrete blocks (and perhaps the bite of Great White) and still keep ticking. Officially dubbed the Duros 8404, this baby offers an 8.4-inch sunlight-viewable SVGA touchscreen that grants a brightness of 1,100 nit and swivels with a 120-degree viewing angle. Inside the aluminum chassis, the 8404 also includes an Intel Atom processor, non-rotating compact flash drive and a hot-swappable battery. According to the engineer boasting the demo unit to me, it’d last longer in the Afgan war than the average marine. Now that’s quite a high boast if you ask me.
By the way, don’t ask me the price. Only people who can buy submarines can buy this. Tsk tsk.
