Out of the box, a new laptop or PC comes with a single partition. While that’s comfy, a single partition can become unwieldy when dozens of directories litter the root directory. Partition Magic came to the rescue a decade ago by affording users post purchase methods of repartitioning an existing system. There are challengers too. One of which is EASEUS Partition Master. It’s a good alternative because of an intuitive user-interface that simplifes your tasks (Partition Magic confuses me at times), and enables you to configure and manage partitions of hard disk(s).
Hunky Dory
For normal procedures of resizing, moving, creating, deleting or formatting partitions, the application provides easy-to-follow wizards that simplify things to the maximum. It’s just as easy to use as MS Word! Procedures can be done in minutes and there are enough safeguards to prevent accidental erasure of the entire system!
One nifty feature is that of creating a bootable disk allows you to make the desired changes offline in case you want to partition the disk(s) prior to installing an operating system.
No one can complain about the price. At $31, it’s cheaper than most lunches!
The Lousy
The interface while intuitive, is in strong need of a better look. It looks dated… something from the early millenium. Look past this and you won’t have problems. It is pretty solid software.
