The Perfect Phone- Ericsson P1i

Friday 11 January 2008 @ 7:38 pm

p1i.jpgIt isn’t often when I call something perfect- but with the case of the Ericsson P1i, I may just break that tradition.

I acquired all manner of Nokia and Samsung almost every month for the past year. They were good, but none give me the drools as much as the P1i - successor to the P990i . P1 is a 3G Symbian smartphone sorting a QWERTY keyboard. There are two flavors of the P1, the Sony Ericsson P1c for consumption in China and the P1i which attacks other markets.

The exciting P1i sidesteps the P800/P900/P910/P990 form factor and disposes of the famous “flip” on the front of the device. It further disposes the QWERTY keyboard for a keypad reminiscent to the M600i. The device drops weight from 150g P990i - weighing in at 124 g. Continue Reading »

Two-Faced Phones For You!

Wednesday 26 December 2007 @ 1:20 am

samsung-f300.jpgSamsung joins in on the “who’s got the coolest phone” bandwagon with the two-faced F300 and F500. And when I say two-faced, I mean it!

The F300 Ultra Music boasts a plain phone on one side and a music player on the other. Now you can leave the extra weight of that Ipod at home with this baby. You can look cool with slimmer pockets, without sacrificing your perpetual music fix.

But what if you’re a video junkie and lug a video ipod wherever you go? No sweat! The F500 Ultra video descended from the F300 and neatly transforms into a video player. Simply swivel the bottom half to rest on your desktop and whammo! You got yourself a movie player in landscape mode. With a large 2.4 inch color TFT display and DivX video codec support, you can watch Pamela Anderson’s boobs bouncing in full glory.

Who still wants an iPhone now???

GetJar.com Review

GetJar

Not only do I love mobile phones, I enjoy the apps that come on them- particularly if they won’t cost me a red cent.

Check out getjar.com. You’ll find a list of free software arranged by title, device and platform. There’s e-crypt, pocket wallet, pocket oxford english dictionary and the oh so popular PalmaSutra.

I spent hours on this site just downloading- until my phone ran out of space.

Palm Treo 650 Review

Palm Treo 650 Review
Palm Corp.

As of late I ran a gauntlet for some of the brand new ‘all in one’ wireless products. All in one devices are a combination of cellular phone and PDA. I have found these devices generally uncomfortable and watered down. Many of the devices I found were not very user friendly, bordering on useless for their intended function.

One of the rare exceptions to this rule is the Palm Treo 650.

The Treo 650 is in essence a Palm PDA and CDMA wireless phone combination., and unlike some previous Treo models, the Treo 650 delivers exemplary on all counts.
