Consider the situation of getting robbed and your credit cards get stolen. Unless you call the banks right away and provide them with the plastic on your digits, you may be liable for any unauthorized charges. Continue Reading »

Photosharing on the Go with Flickr
Got relatives abroad? I do. Many of my kin live in Singapore. Giving them a ring sure bites my budget! I was
glad, therefore when Global mobile network operator Truphone today added Truphone Anywhere functionality to its iPhone™ application. It’s one cool app that enables users to enjoy international calls across the internet for as little as £0.03/$0.06 [UK/Rest of World] per minute even when without wifi. Inbound Truphone calling on the iPhone is also provided for the first time, making it possible to enjoy completely free Truphone calls between two iPhones. Now that’s bringing IT to the masses!
Truphone Anywhere operates in 33 countries around the world, saving iPhone users from those nations money on pricy international calls made from their home country when not in Wi-Fi. The easy-to-use service works alongside domestic service providers, but reduces international call costs to as little as £0.03/$0.06 [UK/RoW] per minute.
Contrast those with, say, calling card solutions, Truphone Anywhere doesn’t require a user to remember circuitous steps. Whenever an international number is dialled from outside Wi-Fi, Truphone Anywhere simply asks whether he/she wants to make a Truphone call. The user merely accepts, and Truphone connects the call. Then it’s chat all night! Continue Reading »

There’s been so much buzz about Google’s Android powered mobile phone. Now you no longer need to dream so much- the device should be arriving soon. The first phone off the pipeline is the HTC G1 which is also dubbed the Dream. T-Mobile is the first to launch the phone for its users.
I know the techlusters want the bottomline, so here it is.
First of, a 3.2 inch 65k colour screen is to be found on the phone which runs at a resolution of 480×320 pixels. The screen is touch sensitive as most high end phones should be. There’s a QWERTY keyboard folds out from beneath the device. A great space saver if you ask me. Continue Reading »
Google’s Android Phone Out Now!
Let anyone see this, and even your best friend will plan a heist!
The Plica is a cool cellphone concept that merges two screens which functions as a touch keyboard and touch screen. In a way, it looks a tad like a laptop- just smaller and lighter. And at 8 hours, runs about 3x as long as a laptop.
Fully spread out the unit and the screens flatten out as a large working space for doodling and websurfing. Done? Fold it up into a neat compact wallet-sized doodad and slip it into your pocket. It’s the ultimate in portability
Aside from USB and headphone ports, it appears that the unit also sports the usual connectivity fare found on other average cellphones. Processor is quite beefy too. It’s an ideal unit for video and mp3 playback. But the batts can take a hit
James Piatt is developing this toy and it won’t be long before you see one of these babies on the road.
Google Maps just keeps better and better , with the newest version offering mass transit directions for the S60 and Windows Mobile versions. With V2.2, you’ll never get lost again after installing it on your smartphone’s browser. Oh, ensure that you have an unlimited mobile plan. If you pay by the kilobyte, you’ll end up broke with this application. The V2.2 update offers 50 cities all over the world. So whether you’re in Manila or Singapore, you’ll get to the nearest brothel on time, all the time!
Do you ever get random phone calls from unfamiliar numbers? I get them all the time and it drives me nuts. They never leave a message and I have no idea if its a friend or a stranger trying to call me. I guess I could just call them back to find out who it is, but the one time I tried that it turned into a whole mess with some angry husband accusing me of fooling around with his wife! How To Find Out Who Owns Any Phone Number
Here’s a bit of buzz on the grapezine. Seems apple plans to plug in a GPS chip into their iPhone:
“Tonight, based on a recent informal conversation my Dad had with his friend’s wife who works at Apple, he told me the next iPhone is likely to have GPS. Usually, my Dad’s friend’s wife doesn’t let Apple product info slip out until right before a new product announcement is made. This being the case, I’m betting GPS will be included with the 3G iPhone… and soon”
Ah. It’s that ole fave gossipmongers like to pass around, “My husband’s friend’s wife said that…” Think it could be true? If so, I may just be tempted to switch to the iPhone. My P1i is starting to look long on the tooth next to this beauty.
But while they’re at it, I hope they allow dual or quad sims. Why is it that only china phones have this killer feature?

Panasonic Brings New Models of Cordless Phones
The grapevine’s got buzz that Sonim will be braging its Sonim XP1 “indestructible” phone at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona this year. During, the show, the company will challenge participants and particularly attending media to rape, pillage and plunder the phone.
”If you’ve been watching the videos on YouTube, you’ll have seen the Sonim shot with a Glock 9mm by Mobil magazine and a Remington rifle by Metro, the largest paper in Sweden” Bob Plaschke, CEO of Sonim
I don’t know about you, but I’m taking my AK47 to the trade show this year. Let’s see the guards (and that phone) stop me.
It isn’t often when I call something perfect- but with the case of the Ericsson P1i, I may just break that tradition. Am I impressed enough though to claim that it trumps my business iphone? We’ll see.
I acquired all manner of Nokia and Samsung almost every month for the past year. They were good, but none give me the drools as much as the P1i – successor to the P990i . P1 is a 3G Symbian smartphone sorting a QWERTY keyboard. There are two flavors of the P1, the Sony Ericsson P1c for consumption in China and the P1i which attacks other markets.
The exciting P1i sidesteps the P800/P900/P910/P990 form factor and disposes of the famous “flip” on the front of the device. It further disposes the QWERTY keyboard for a keypad reminiscent to the M600i. The device drops weight from 150g P990i – weighing in at 124 g. Continue Reading »
The Perfect Phone- Ericsson P1i
Samsung joins in on the “who’s got the coolest phone” bandwagon with the two-faced F300 and F500. And when I say two-faced, I mean it!
The F300 Ultra Music boasts a plain phone on one side and a music player on the other. Now you can leave the extra weight of that Ipod at home with this baby. You can look cool with slimmer pockets, without sacrificing your perpetual music fix.
But what if you’re a video junkie and lug a video ipod wherever you go? No sweat! The F500 Ultra video descended from the F300 and neatly transforms into a video player. Simply swivel the bottom half to rest on your desktop and whammo! You got yourself a movie player in landscape mode. With a large 2.4 inch color TFT display and DivX video codec support, you can watch Pamela Anderson’s boobs bouncing in full glory.
Who still wants an iPhone now???
