You Don’t Need The Carribean for a Dream Getaway

Tuesday 3 June 2008 @ 10:57 am

If you’re searching for an island getaway this summer, the Philippines may be the right place for relaxing! Comprised of over 7,000 islands, the natural beauty of the Philippines offers many opportunities for beach-lounging and quiet summer sunsets. Keep reading for some highlights in this Philippines Tourism and Travel Guide.

The first thing you should know is that those 7,000 islands I mentioned are actually divided into three main areas: Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao. No matter the region, there are many options for getting around, including some green options such as pedicabs and tricycles! You can also see Jeepneys, which remind you of the history of this Southeast Asian country. The Jeepneys are modified Jeeps, leftover reminders of World War II. Oftentimes they are decorated in fun colors with chrome ornamentation. Continue Reading »

Review: Sony Bravia XBR 52” LCD TV

Friday 30 May 2008 @ 12:00 am

What do I want for Christmas?

I want a big big television! And the clearest screen with the crispiest colors on the face of the planet.

Oh, Sony has it! Their XBR series has stood as the best consumer TV over the years and this year is no exception. The XBR line of full HD 1080p TV’s incorporate all of Sony’s incomparable technologies bundled in one package, with HDMI v1.3 features like Deep Color. The Motionflow 120 Hz shows more fluid motion for action-packed segments in movies. It’s got amazing detail and clarity. This is the best LCD TV to date by Sony. Just walk to the nearest store or online shop and you’ve got one.

I was looking for a down side to this TV besides its price, but I only found out more from the goody bag. A sa way of being green, the new Bravia is the industry’s lowest standby power consumption levels, thus being the greenest TV on the planet today. It’s energy-saving and environment-friendly with the Ambient Light Sensor, Power Saving Mode and Auto Power-off.

That’s why I’m totally endorsing this TV. It’s green. Green, you hear me! Save the planet! Buy a Bravia!

Review: Gemini P29 5-in-1 Wireless Keyboard

Wednesday 30 April 2008 @ 12:00 am

Gemini
People normally associate Korean, Taiwanese and Chinese products with low quality. The Gemini P29 5-in-1 Wireless Keyboard from Xenics Korea is something I wouldn’t lump in with that stereotype.

I just purchased this cheap,  compact wireless keyboard because it comes with a remote control that doubles up as a mouse and a laser pointer. It’s definitely the perfect solution for powerpoint addicts! Connectivity is simple. You connect the Gemini P29 to your PC via the included USB thumb, offering up to a 10 meter radius which should be more than sufficient for you to perform all your computing tasks in front of a large screen HDTV. The average wireless mouse doesn’t perform as well- just 6 ft!.

Looks to me I’m replacing every other keyboard at home!

MarkFiore.com - If you Want To Die Laughing

Friday 25 April 2008 @ 9:51 pm

I love my government, but I hate the way they run business. I particularly hate the way they turned politics into business.

Now griping won’t do any good. It raises my blood pressure. I get sick. And they don’t even foot the hospital bill. So instead of griping, I visit markfiore.com and watch the funniest parodies of government practices and policies. Suddenly, corruption doesn’t look so bad- it actually looks fun.

Maybe I’ll run for congressman.

Review: Asus Eee PC- Perfect Scratch Pad

Sunday 20 April 2008 @ 8:12 pm

I’m the notepad type of guy. My travels take me to places where I like to jot down notes, scribble drawings and generally save my thoughts on paper. The problem is, notepads get ratty quite quickly. So I started taking notes on my Sony Ericsson P1i. But dang, that keyboard takes forever to input data! Then I tried my laptop. But it’s too big and unwieldy. Plus the Compaq dies after 1 hour use (it’s a core2duo at 2Ghz) Continue Reading »
