Who needs Pacsafe Bags? Check out my raised hands and feet!

PacSafe Anti-Theft Bag

The reason is that I frequently travel toc ountries rife with hooligans and thieves. Have you ever landed at a decrepit airport only to be mugged by customs, overcharged by the cabbies, then slashed of your bodybags at the fleamarket? It happened to me a lot. The most saddening time was when a burly dude in what looked like pajamas ripped the strap of my prada and made off with my wallet as I struggled to collect my spilt belongings.

Thank God Pacsafe bags and pouches came along.

I first learnt about Pacsafe at an airport in Singapore. The duty free shop had this funny sign: Travelling to Thailand? You need Pacsafe. I think that’s definitely racist, but upon inspection, I found that their wares were superb. The bag itself is internally meshed with iron and the strap has an internal cord of steel. I exhibited a smidgen of disbelief at first, so the clerk whipped out a nasty looking jungle knife. He hung it on a peg then slashed away. Damn… that that Pacsafe bag deflected every blow. No cuts, no wefts. Just minor abrasions on the external cloth. The contents remained safe.

Today, I own four different Pacsafe models. One for the digicam, another for the slr, another for my laptop and one for my money. No mugger successfully slashed my straps again. Oh yes- there was an attempt at Mumbai, but it failed.

Thanks to my Pacsafe Anti-TheftBags

Here’s what the staff at the network feel.

The Super: Anorexic in size, boasting a crystal clear screen highly readable even in sunlight or darkness; quicker page turning response and capability to handle massive pdf libraries, documents, magazines and the like. It lets us download new stuff wherever and whenever with the onboard keyboard! The baby sings to the tune of Mp3 and AAC as well without draining the massive battery. Oh- and you can stash your sexy pictures too.

The Nasty: You can’t expand it nor can you ad more memory. I’d have preferred that the battery were external so I can use kick ass eneloops.

Will I buy it: Yep! If I don’t need the tons of apps at the Apple store, this is the far better option. There’s virtually no eye strain using this tool (unlike the ipad), and with its better battery life and lower price, you can carry your work and social life on the Amazon Kindle!

Netflix: it’s Gods solution for lazy movie buffs.

Think about it. Movies that come right to your door, why would I ever need to leave the house? All I have to do is log on to my computer, create a wish list, or queue of movies, I want to see. So many of them I can watch right on my computer or through my Blu Ray player.

With netflix, There are different pricing options. The amount of DVD/Blu Rays you get at a time can be swapped out, and if you don’t want the instant gratification of their streaming of movies, that’s an option too. Now I don’t have to go to a traditional rental store, spend money for each movie and then try to remember to return it on time before they slap me with late fees. There are plenty of kid movies to choose from so they can be occupied, i.e. quiet on long trips. Definitely a great service that I will continue to use for a long time.

That game sometimes takes 2 hours of my precious blogging time. But for those softies who hate guns, there’s that cute game called Farmville. While the game looks cheesy, its fanbase is truly formidable. I dont’ get how my entire office, my entire household and even my circle of friends have gotten into this carebears type of social networking game!

It’s not my cup of tea, but I do tip my hat to the success of this game. It’s so good that mavericks have actually made real money off it by betting on who gets biggest fastest.

Be honest. Are you one of those hopeless blokes? Or are you simply addicted? Then check Farmville Secrets out. It’s a cool manual slapped together by some experts which reveals underhandedly vile ways to level up really fast. My cousin is on it… and woah… he sure looks like a Farm Magnate now! (and it took him 5 days!)

Most friends I know are so hooked, they log on just to play- with some actually spending good money to buy game items.

But did you know you didn’t have to waste money buying all those items. There’s a cheat way to get to top level in no time without spending a dime. And all those secrets are contained in a book called Mafia Wars Blueprint.Gamers came up with Mafia Wars Blueprint to divulge tricks of the trade like what guns to get, which missions to repeat, what tasks to avoid, and the stealthiest level up methodologies allowed by the game.

I got the chance to breeze through this info packed ebook and actually got a totally new character to gargantuan status in less than 5 days. Its now more powerful than a character I developed over the past 3 months!. Whew. This stuff is gold for those addicted to Mafia Wars.

But good thing I rediscovered my life beyond the PC. I’m no longer into social networking when real networking is far more rewarding.

For those still stuck with Mafia Wars, do check out the Mafia Wars BluePrint.

One thing about the ole Xboxe360 is that they overheat. A lot. Play them beyond 4 hours and there’s a strong chance they’ll blink red and go kaput. Repairs should cost almost $100 for the steamed-up chip! It’s for this reason that most folks buy cooling fans and play their units in an airconditioned room. Too bad for the afficionados in Africa or Indonesia. Their Xboxes are just begging to kick the bucket!

Microsoft must have heard of all the griping that a few months ago they released the Xbox360 which addressed the overheat problem. Since I lost two Xboxes to overheat I decided to try the new offering… and today I’m enthused to write that the upgrade was well worth it.

The Arcade edition I own is almost 4 months old and I play it about 6 to 12 hours a day. Sometimes 6 hours straight when business is slow. Know what? It’s still kicking! And that’s to think I didn’t install any cooling fans.

Thank God for this! If you haven’t already, buy the Xbox Arcade edition and sell your old stuff at ebay. You’ll never have problems again!

Christmas shopping via the web saves you gas and frees you from the rough and tumble of the crowds at Macy’s. It’s a real comfort to point, click, and get deliveries right at your door. However there are potential dangers to your identity and credit records when you skip the physical mall.

Consider the following vulnerabilities when you go online to get your goods:

Email Danger: E-mail is great. It’s like telepathy. In a flash, you’ll know what your kids on the opposite side of the continent would want. But not everything in your inbox is holy and cute, though. You may find viruses, spyware programs, fraudulent “phishing” messages, and other nasty stuff miscreants use to ruin your holiday cheer. How can you stay safe? Avoid attachments from unknown correspondents.Even attachments from pals may be suspect unless you’re absolutely sure the message is valid. An evil sender may pretend to be your friend and fire you a mail that carries viruses or steals your cards . If you get a message touting an online sale at an e-merchant you patronize or warning about trouble with an existing financial account, don’t click any links. Any mail that solicits for access data is deadly!

Fake Sites. Watch where you surf! You may have attempted to access Ebay.com, but typed in beay.com Instead. Hackers like setting up fake sites using commonly mispelled words. That way, the visitor is suckered into yielding credit cards for nothing.

Ordering Without The Padlock. When you reach the checkout, do you see the padlock? No? Then don’t buy. Anything you transmit is unencrypted. Someone may steal the data you send. Do you want to risk the credit limit on your Platinum card? I thought so.

Be safe while shopping online. It can save you from a heart a1tta1ck

Did you love Independence Day? If so, you’re in for a real treat. 2012 makes Independence Day glimmer like weakfireworks. Disaster movie maven Roland Emmerich (Independence Day, The Day After Tomorrow) forges this apocalyptic sci-fi thriller through the eyes of an academic researcher who blasts wide a doorway into a parallel dimension, making contact with his etheric alterego in a desperate bid to halt the end time prophecies of the ancient Mayan calendar . According to the Mayan calendar, the world meets a doomsday on December 21, 2012. When a global cataclysm thrusts the world into chaos, divorced writer and father Jackson Curtis (John Cusack) delves deep into his knowledge of the ancient prophecies to ensure that the human race is not completely wiped.

Check out the trailer before you read my review:

I cheated. I saw this movie a month before release because my friend had access to a review copy, and I can tell you this: this film boasts one helluva intelligent plot supported by the most amazing cinematography. When you’re not breathless watching an entire tectonic plate sink, you’re weeping at the human drama unfolding. The actors are so good that you can read their emotions without them uttering a single word.

It’s tough to rain enough praise on this hilarious, spellbinding movie. To describe “2012″ is to make it appear as any other end-of-the-world disaster epic you’ve ever seen. But guess what? It is. This masterpiece is an Emmerich film much like his others – “Independence Day” and “The Day After Tomorrow” – about an epic, global catastrophe that unfolds …

Halt. You already know how it starts: within a dingy cubicle, a scientist looks at a computer screen and mutters the famous … “My God!”

Okay okay. Sounds familiar? Yeah, you may have seen this before, and yet you haven’t, not quite like this. It’s a bit formula, but far beyond it. And this is a scripted formula to the perfection of what makes the type of movie people will consider ‘cult’ for decades to come. I kid you not- people will say 2012 in the same breath they do Citizen Kane or Sound of Music. It’s that good. In “2012,” Emmerich gives you everything you expect, but gives it to you bigger.

Picture a car hurtling through a neighborhood in Pasadena as boulevards and the tenements behind it plummet to the bowels of the Earth. Picture a plane leaping off on a disappearing runway – and dodging amidst collapsing buildings and a thrashing train. Witness massive tidal waves taking coastal cities by storm and erasing (you guessed it) the Statue of Liberty. But stop right there. Everything in the movie is ten times as grand as that you just vainly tried to imagine.

I know you’re itching to see that movie. If you don’t have time to hit the cinemas right now, check it at this cool site where legal movie downloads are available:

Have a blast watching 2012!

I can’t work at the PC in dead silence. I’d rather have music or white noise. Are you just like that? Worktime requiresthat I either have my Mp3 player plugged in or Itunes running in the background.

Itunes is cool. It’s one of the best apps of the decade. There’s only one catch- you gotta pay for your tunes. Arrrghh. So eventually I turned to Limewire for my ambient sound fix. Thing is, it’s hard to find virus-free music or software on that sharing giant. Plus, it takes forever to download.

But my problem got solved when some geniuses came out to launch Playlist.com. Think of Playlist as your personal web radio where you can request anything you want, and the DJ plays it for you. And FREE!

Log on at playlist.com and immediately you’ll see a large search box. You’ll be prodded to enter the artist or song title. A list will come out. From the list you can create a playlist without spending a cent (unlike itunes). The music then streams in real time- no static, not flutter. Just sublime tunes to tantalize your sound card!

I love this site. Not once will they try to sell you something. That keeps me wondering- how exactly do they survive providing such free service with high quality?

I give these folks 5 stars!
