How To Make Em Fall In Love With You. With Economics.

Wednesday 24 December 2008 @ 7:55 pm

I can imagine using NLP or speed seduction to get a date with a hot babe. But Economics? Iseconomistinner that possible?

Tyler Cowen, author of Discover Your Inner Economist apparently thinks so. Inspired by Freakonomics-inspired pop-economics books  Cowen aims enlighten readers with economic principles that help you get everything done from the dishes to being laid.I personally loved his chatty disquisitions and the way economics often recedes into near invisibility. It’s one uplifting guide on how to get more of the really cool stuff in life. With the wit uncanny to a professor of economics, Cowen offers cutting strategies for appreciating museum pieces, for building family rapport and harmony, for writing a personal ad, for reading classic tomes that seem boring on first glance, for surviving Chinese torture, for properly indulging in self-deception and for most effectively giving to beggars in Sudan. In the book’s most passionate and practical chapter, on food, Cowen explains how, with planning and tactics, we can eat much better meals at home and in restaurants, here and abroad. It’s a dieter’s bonanza! Continue Reading »

Is Google Profit Pump Worth $67?

Tuesday 19 February 2008 @ 10:36 pm

Each time a new promising product is launched, especially those related to affiliate marketing, there rises a demand for unbiased reviews. It’s the case  with the hot new product, Google Profit Pump. But as everybody knows these days, mots ‘unbiased’ reviews are written by sellers, with the only goal to sell as many copies as possible, so you can’t really trust those reviews.

Yesterday I stumbled upon a website claiming to provide the information of scams promoted to affiliate marketers; the author explicitly states that most ebooks and courses out there are scams, except the three he is promoting himself. Sigh… where’s the honesty these days?

So I’m going for another tact  (which hopefully will be supported by other senior internet marketing reviewers) and act from the opposite; I actually bought Google Profit Pump among the first to see what it is, what it is not, and why it’s getting more and more ‘unbiased’ reviews. Dear Mom, Help – I Bought 472 Ebooks And I Can’t Get Up

Tuesday 19 February 2008 @ 7:31 pm

I don’t know about you? But to me, trying to write 50-100 pages on one particular subject. Is like.. Yeahhhh… Right!!! I personally have a hard enough time writing a letter to my own Mother. Let alone 50-100 pages on one particular subject.

Now don’t get me wrong, I love my Mom to death. I just can’t figure out why every time we talk on the phone the conversation ends with… “Son, when you get some time… how bout’ writing me a letter”. Now I ‘ll be the first to admit, that when it comes to writing letters I am the worlds worst.

Maybe professional writers have no problem cranking out page after page of quality content to fill their e-books. But, as you can probably already tell, professional writer extraordinaire I am not. Continue Reading »

How to Look Like a Model

Saturday 24 November 2007 @ 9:41 am

Chances are 99% of all the photos you have of yourself suck. Well, maybe not suck. Just reek a bit. Maybe the skin’s a tad pale. Or there’s a stray hair going out the nose.

If that sounds like you, you need a bit of photo magic skills so you can doctor the images and make yourself look like a model. Imagine the benefits: your friendster profile gets more hits, your resume gets more calls and you feel better in your driver’s license.

I recently purchased Mark’s 101 Awesome Photo Tips and got my mojos out of it. For $67, I was treated to scores of special effects demoed on video and adroitly explained by an overly enthusiastic guy with lots of hair. I kid you not. In 30minutes, 10 of my stuffy old photos suddenly glowed with life.

Like a pale pic of myself suddenly superimposed on tbe foreground of a Ms. Universe Pageant. But that wasn’t just it: I sported a healthy tan, literally glowed with a dazzling aura and my eyes took on an azure hue.

I literally looked like a model surrounded by delightful dames!

Check out the tutorial. Let me know what you think.

PS3 Is Gaming Nirvana!

Saturday 6 October 2007 @ 11:58 am

I owned an XBox360 last year but gave it up due to overheating problems. Besides that, games tend to be limited with only one truly taking my breath away: Halo 3.

Gaming Nirvana finally arrived when I recently purchased a PS3. Already, there’s a virtual armada of games like Tom Clancy’s Rainbow 6, FEAR, and my all time fave Need for Speed. If I’m not blogging or churning out operations analysis at the office, you’re sure to find me hunched over my PS3 with a soda helmet on my noggin and empty packs of doritos on the floor.

I can spend all day gaming. What with the console’s ultra realism (it’s notches better than the Xbox360) and uber connectivity features, who needs a girlfriend? ;)

Some friends are holding back on PS3 purchases just yet due to the steep introductory prices of the games. To these folks in deprivation: do comparative shopping! With sites like these, you can find low prices for these games that can take you to gaming nirvana.

Right now!

(if my grammar’s all bleary, it’s cozz I just ejected the CD fromm the player)

See for yourself!

Brainbasedbusiness.com Review – Rated 5 Star of The Month

Tuesday 17 July 2007 @ 9:12 pm

brainbased.JPGIf you’re a businessman, corporate hotshot or simply a wannabee entrepreneur with a desire to infuse intelligence into your enterprise, you must visit Brain Based Business.

Our ragtag group of smalltime business mavens found itself utterly impressed with the quality and quantity of opinionated assertions that covered topics like

Aging Brain Beliefs * Best Practices * Blogging Tips * Brain Based Books * Inside the Brain * Brain Based Business * Brain Based Business Writing * Brain Based Discoveries * Brain Based Leaders * Brain Based Think Tanks * Brain Breakthroughs * Brain Injury* Brain Links to Business Problem Solving * Brain based peace plan * Brain disorders Breakthroughs * Change Cranky Middle Manager * Show Creativity Cultures as Currency Customer Service

And that’s just a quarter of it!

Now did you notice the conspicuous brain dance prevalent in this highly sentient site? Now that’s something profoundly missing in other article sites and farms – which by the way, tend to be cluttered with a lot of spam these days.

On the other hand, BrainBasedBusiness bursts with nonestop brain tips for braining up that business of yours for success – whether it’s an SME or high flying conglomerate.

Check out a recent article of theirs that one of our board members discussed in a recent company meeting (with credits of course)

Run from negativity researchers tell us. It’s been said before … but new studies show negativity – as a cortisol trigger. It adds stress and pulls tone in ways that shut down you and the people around you.

Work with people’s brains in a new way in response … Robyn McMaster reminds us. Great leaders … she points out … use problem solving skills to turn negative cultures around. Have you seen it happen?

Wait a minute …. Are you the negative one?

If so … you’ll be glad to see news that negativity is actually a choice and has far less to do with a person’s misfortune than once thought.

When we’re negative we see the worst, lack hope for change, take opposite views in positive conversations, complain more than solve, take few risks to improvements, blame others rather than make a positive difference ourselves.

Sadly, negative people online rarely see their pessimism one expert claimed – but others read it loud and clear in almost every post.

Where do the slumps come from? Interestingly – it often starts with a seemingly innocent rant. Negativity can come from a slumping brain – and thanks to research and new technology we now know how to awaken a slumping brain to positive results.

What can be done to remain animated when others are anxious? If you’ve built patterns for expressing more negatives than solutions that inspire others around you, or if you slow a group down by problems of confusion …. you’ll be happy to see science that helps people reduce anxiety before they join any circle or project. A new study has led to more help for anxious workers.

Some people seem to have a penchant for turning difficulties into monsters – out to get all of us. They often use words such as “confused” … “can’t” … or “overwhelmed.” Others seem to find solutions to the most vexing problems – through keen communication skills to solve problems we all face.
