Acetone- It’s Magic for Your Mileage

Friday 24 June 2011 @ 11:03 pm

These days gas prices break my back. Prices have been at all time highs and it doesn’t help that I drive a turbo intercooler. Its a rare day that my mileage goes beyond 7 I’m per liter.

What makes it worse is that I’ve tried every considerable has saving product from oil additives to simota air filters and even chip upgrades. Result : down graded bank account. None worked.

But recently a friend at the Acura club taught me something ground breaking Continue Reading »

How To Keep Your Car Sparklin’ Clean

Saturday 4 April 2009 @ 3:16 am

… where it counts. INSIDE.ra-group

The engine is one delicate monster. It makes all that macho sound and spews out tons of torque. But did you know that there is a sheer delicacy among its moving parts? Throw one part out of whack and the whole thing goes kaboom. So does your wallet.

To date, I’ve discovered only two great things that really keeps the engine healthy: well-made oil like Helix and magnets.

Magnets???

Yep. The thing does wonders for the car. Continue Reading »

Take to The Skies with AirCreation!

Monday 23 February 2009 @ 7:43 pm

Traffic gets anyone’s goat-even Mother Theresa’s. In fact, I heard she strangled a goat out of frustration during a six aircreationhour gridlock in New Delhi. Too bad she didn’t live to see the AirCreation Tanarg Trike. I daresay, it resembles something from a star trek movie. This rich man’s toy  looks like a standard trike which is capable of taking to the skies traffic starts taking your goat.

Of course, I don’t recommend taking off in the middle of New Delhi traffic- lest the rotors take off the head of a policeman.  Find somewhere safe!

For now, the gadget doesn’t take families. It’s a two-seater is built on a strong modular wire-mesh structure and relies on Rotax 912 or 582 silent engines to keep it up in the air. Im saving up my money to buy this and do a proper review.

Baby Seats With Airbags

Tuesday 23 September 2008 @ 8:51 pm

The driver side seats have airbags and SRS. Shouldn’t that cute tyke in the back be afforded the same protection? I’d rather die than see my baby squashed to a pulp in road mishap!

Now here are baby seats are designed to make your bundle of joy very safe if a crash mild crash occurs. Britax have taken these safety seats very seriously by adding a couple of side impact airbags making your baby nicely safe.

The airbags add about 1/2 inch of extra girth to the average car seat however, during  a crash  the airbags deploy giving your baby even more protection then normal. Don’t bother that the price tag is a fair bit higher then an regular baby seat at $369.99. I think this is a fair price to protect your loved ones from nasty lumps (or worse- a broken neck) Continue Reading »

How To Carry Your Bike To the BoardRoom

Monday 28 July 2008 @ 6:10 pm

Fancy doing your bit to cut down on pollution? Then you’ll like what these fellas have in store for you: an ultra lightweight bike that folds up into a backpack for easy storage. No more worrying that some klepto is jacking your bike down at the lot.

Oh, and it doubles as a cart as well. Got to many things to carry? No problem. Unpack the bike and wheel those garbage bags to the bin. It’s got more. Headlights, backlights and turning signals. All in a nice package of 5kg.

This looks definitely like something I’d take for an intravillage commute. But will I take it to work 10 miles away? Nahhhh…. This toy looks a tad flimsy to me. It may break at the next pothole. (oh, and with its size, any chihuahua could outrace me) Continue Reading »

How To Be The Envy of Rice Boys

Tuesday 29 April 2008 @ 4:59 am

Why, by having the baddest speakers of course! Who can’t help but drool in envy over a vehicle (or home) that shakes the block with music?

JBL has launched its earthshaking GTO Subwoofers that chruns sound from of die-cast aluminum baskets, polypropylene cones, rubber surrounds inserts, and a quaint tinsel-wire shield that also fortifies the fusing amongst the cone, the voice coil and the spider. The fused joint is the most critical portion since it must be fortified enough to resist more stressors than any other section in the shaking assembly, yet JBL got everything in to place. V-Kool tints review

Sunday 1 April 2007 @ 12:00 am

Every automobile enthusiast knows what V-Kool is. It’s got cool hues (smoked, clear), cool performace (you can’t really feel the heat from the sun), and a cool price (thrice the price of every other product on the market).

I like V-Kool despite its exorbitant price. My Integra and Jazz is sheathed in V-Kool, allowing me to drive in high noon under the California sun with nary a drop of sweat. It’s comfortable to me and comfortable for the engine because less energy is expended to cool the car. Credo: mileage.

I have just one complaint.

My old Chevy Impala also has V-Kool. It’s almost five years and the original gold hue has turned green. sigh. Can’t win em all.

Good thing is- the tint still functions perfectly. Zero heat from the noonday sun

Run Flat Tires

Friday 16 March 2007 @ 9:26 am

If you’ve ever been late for a date, appointment, or meeting because of a flat tire, you already know how frustrating it can be. If you’ve ever changed a flat tire in the rain, after dark, or on the shoulder of a busy highway, you already know how frightening it can be. So while we enjoy the freedom our vehicles provide, it’s amazing how quickly that freedom vanishes when a flat tire strands us.

Since the early development of the automobile, tires have played an important role in determining a vehicle’s overall comfort and safety. However, there are few consumer products placed in harms way more often than our tires, which encounter extremes in temperature, exposure to the elements, and attacks by debris on the road during their life. And while the tire manufacturers’ continuous research and development efforts have improved tire durability and longevity, only recently have they developed tires that can temporarily maintain vehicle mobility using standard Original Equipment and aftermarket wheels. These run flat tires provide the driver more flexibility when deciding where to have tire repairs made.

How we all love faster, more fuel efficient cars!

Drive a beat up Toyota Altis? Or Perhaps a Honda Fit? No matter how pedestrian these cars are, it feels great to tweak them up for a minor performance boost.

Which is what I did two months ago to my 2006 Honda Fit.

I gave this baby the Level One Upgrade which consists of

Upgraded Headers
Upgraded Free Flow Mufflers
Iridium Sparkplugs by Denso
High Tension Wires
K&N filter
Grounding Wires
Kaizen Voltage Stabilization Kit

Know what happened?

Honda Fit Review

Yipee Kayaeyy!!

I finally bought my gal the Honda Fit after plunking in some serious cash for the recently launched 2007 Honda Si.

It’s a looker alright. A cute body that looks quite turtlish, but has the agility of the racy Si.

It’s got less than 120 horses under the hood, so motorheads may scoff at it.. but then again, do you need a compact to race Eclipses and Porsches? Continue Reading »

Khaoz Super TurboCharger Review

Thursday 7 December 2006 @ 9:15 pm

In the tradition of JUNK like the Turbo Stormy, the Eco-Tek and the Turbo-Zet comes the newest miracle gas saver that lightens your wallet and actually increases total cost of ownership!

THE KHAOZ

The Khaoz is an air-bleed device, created in the 70s by Pablo Planas from the Philippines. Air-bleed devices are by no means new. Companies have been peddling crap like this for years and promising whopping 50% gas savings!

Despite some attempts at pseudo science, the operating principle of the KSTC is clear. It contains a regulating valve and also a spring-loaded (vacuum-operated) valve, which in combination allow variable air to flow through the gadget and into the engine. This khaoz bled air does not pass through the carburetor, so it introduces less fuel, and the overall effect is a leaner air/fuel mixture.  Continue Reading »
