The bottom line: The third-generation Kindle’s winning combination of noteworthy upgrades–an improved screen, better battery life, lighter weight, and lower price–vaults it to the top of the e-book reader category.

Could the Amazon Kindle be an Ipad killer?

Here’s what the staff at the network feel.

The Super: Anorexic in size, boasting a crystal clear screen highly readable even in sunlight or darkness; quicker page turning response and capability to handle massive pdf libraries, documents, magazines and the like. It lets us download new stuff wherever and whenever with the onboard keyboard! The baby sings to the tune of Mp3 and AAC as well without draining the massive battery. Oh- and you can stash your sexy pictures too.

The Nasty: You can’t expand it nor can you ad more memory. I’d have preferred that the battery were external so I can use kick ass eneloops.

Will I buy it: Yep! If I don’t need the tons of apps at the Apple store, this is the far better option. There’s virtually no eye strain using this tool (unlike the ipad), and with its better battery life and lower price, you can carry your work and social life on the Amazon Kindle!

Well not exactly. But it’s the next best thing to unleashing almost demonic intuition on the greens. It’s enough to get your partnersscreaming hell. Or sending you to heaven with your putters stuck in your back. You see, the Callaway Upro MX provides truly customized GPS experiences to those who play golf. Standard GPS just won’t do. When you game, you need one that shows you the traps, the holes, the water ways. The Callaway does all that.

The Upro mx I own brags a full-color Multi-Gesture Touch Screen display augmented with precise Optical Finger Navigation system, allowing players to rapidly navigate the deep feature set using a single swipe of a finger. Whether you play in New York or Africa is immaterial, since each purchase will come pre-loaded with over 25,000 courses from the company’s global database.

I’ve found that the device works right from unpacking. It’s vivid screens and top notch aerial photog gives accurate representation of any course you’re on. I paid $210 for the Callaway upro mx. No other hidden costs. No recurring fees.

So the big question: have I benefited? You bet. I secretly glance at my baby every game. And beat my buddies to hell.

Do you have stuff? Sure, you do. In fact, it’s likely you even have stuff you’re not using right now. Why, I bet you even have some stuff you’d like to put into storage for use at a later date. If you just so happen to have an attic, then you’re in luck. You’re just steps away from having a veritable bounty of storage space. The steps needed are, of course, a drop down attic ladder. Drop down ladders allow for convenient impromptu access to your newfound home storage unit without dragging out a rickety step ladder or standing on Mom’s dining room chairs. Warner’s Universal Attic Ladder is lightweight, convenient, affordable and can be installed by many do-it-yourselfers. The instructions are clear and straightforward, but will require some skill and basic tools. If you’re not comfortable using a cordless drill, lifting a ladder over your head or being in the same room as a hacksaw, this project may not be for you. However, if you have some basic skills, tools and patience, you can be storing all your unused stuff in your personal attic treasure trove in a matter of hours.

Noise canceling technology may be the greatest thing since sliced bread. Think about it, can sliced bread make a cross country trip in a cramped airliner any better? Likely not. Sliced bread will not silence Bob, the over-caffeinated insurance salesman who wants to be your new friend. Nor will it turn that screaming banshee of a toddler into a model of decorum. No, sliced bread is no match for noise canceling headphones. Once reserved for the first class travelers and road warriors due to the high price, electronics giant Sony has made noise canceling headphones accessible even to the most miserly of the annoyed passengers. At just one sixth to one eighth the price of the well-known competitors (Their name rhymes with Nose,) these bargain beauties reduce ambient noise by up to 83%, while delivering excellent sound quality from your mp3 player, laptop, Bat Utility belt or Walkman (kudos to you for keeping the cassette alive.)

Wow. I didn’t realize that movies could look better at home than in the theater, but after I bought the Sony BDP- S470 it proved possible. Watching animation on Blu Ray with a High-Definition LCD television is a feast for the eyes. Adults, pull the shades, pop the popcorn and hide away to relive your favorite Disney Classics. Snow White, well she’s old but still rocks the Blu Ray. The newer movies like Toy Story 3 look unreal with depth and brilliant colors. But it’s not just a Blu Ray/DVD player, as all the bells and whistles came out with this player. Stream the Netflix instant queue or listen to your favorite Pandora station all from the Blu Ray player and through your home entertainment center. The only way a movie watching experience could be any better is if the player came with movie butter you could squeeze over your microwave popcorn. Plus, the sodas are always cheaper at home.

Too bad she didn’t live to see the AirCreation Tanarg Trike. I daresay, it resembles something from a star trek movie. This rich man’s toy looks like a standard trike which is capable of taking to the skies traffic starts taking your goat.

Of course, I don’t recommend taking off in the middle of New Delhi traffic- lest the rotors take off the head of a policeman. Find somewhere safe!

For now, the gadget doesn’t take families. It’s a two-seater is built on a strong modular wire-mesh structure and relies on Rotax 912 or 582 silent engines to keep it up in the air. Im saving up my money to buy this and do a proper review.

The problem with many corner offices these days is that they’re all glass. That means a lot of sunlight. That’s good of course for your bones and a nice neck tan. But when you present a killer powerpoint, the projector simply can’t beat out all that solar energy.

So you have two options. Buy great shade (which is not always nice looking)…. or obtain a muscular projector that throws out enough light to dissolve a vampire.

I recommend Projectiondesign’s F80 projector- it is the first 3-chip DLP projector that boasts the following :-

* 15,000:1 contrast ratio
* 8,500 lumens brightness
* Advanced Color Processing technology
* Full HD resolution
* WUXGA and SXGA+

My office just acquired one and wow… I can tell you that that brightness shows even in a dazzling office. It’s everything you can ask for from a device costing at a £20,000 price point

Too bad not many can afford it.

I thought I was the coolest thing two years back when I purchased this portable DVD player. Anytime I was stuck in gridlock or waiting for my girlfriend to finish shopping at Louis Vuitton, I’d whip out the unit from my man-bag and watch the latest slasher films. Now those bulky units are passe. Everything from the Sony PSP to the ITouch can play movies in what ever format. And now comes the Samsung which unveiled its new flagship portable media player, the P3.

P3 is an upgrade of the P2. Like the previous model, the P3 features a 3” WQVGA TFT display (480×272),
FM radio, Bluetooth, and an 8 GB version. The new P3 gets the updated DNSe 3.0 sound enhancement technology, an upgraded EmoTure™ touch interface with true haptic feedback, voice recording, 16 GB & 32 GB versions and a music easy access key called the “Music Hot Touch Key” .

The P3 can be purchased first half of 2009 in 4GB, 8GB, 16GB and 32 GB storage capacities, in matte black or matte silver. I suggest 32 Gb. You can carry at least 50 ipod style movies on this beauty (the standard movie size is 384MB)

Some hot specs

* Music Hot Touch Key
* 3-inch WQVGA TFT-LCD touch screen
* 16:9 widescreen video player
* 4GB, 8GB, 16GB and 32 GB
* Samsung’s updated DNSe 3.0 sound enhancement technology
* 0.39 inches thin
* Voice recorder
* Bluetooth
* FM radio

This is definitely exciting news and provides a CHEAP alternative to Windows XP systems running some netbooks today. I can imagine a clear future for cheap sub $200 notebooks that will REALLY allow computing even for the poorest of the poor.

Well done Venturebeat! You made our day!
Suitcases with wheels help, but there are some places that simply don’t lend themselves to wheels. Think Greece where you have rolling terrain and houses separated by meters and meters of stairs! Your wheels would go bust in no time (and make a horrendous racket!). To meet this challenge, some inventors have designed a carrier that features rubber belt tracks along the length of the bag. This allows the full length of the bag to be wheeled along even on unforgiving steps.
