Check out the Asus EAH 3850. The one thing that stands out is its monster fan, dubbed the Glaciator. It’s a fandisk system that doesn’t completely cover the entire board, but appears to glide over the ATI Radeon 3850-RV70 processor and some nearby transistors. It hogs a lot of space, rendering the nearby expansion bays useless. Oh and there’s a nearby heatsike that disperses heat from capacitors, transistors and power headers near the edge.
Why all that cooling? The board’s ATI Radeon 3850 chip with 512MB DDR3, 256bit memory interface, 2560×1600 max resolution and 730Mhz engine clock really kicks ass. It’s 3D Mark 2006 on our test system yields a whopper 7749 at 1024×764. That’s a lot of horsepower which means a lot of heat. It’d give a Gforce 8800 a run for the money. You’ll enjoy new platforms such as high def multimedia interface, high bandwith digital content protection, DX 10 and that sexy new Shader Model 4.0
Too Geekspeak? In layman’s terms: the toughest games will run like a breeze on this baby. Even if you have a mere Core2Duo 1.5Ghz.
I tell you. You want this. NOW!
